4d quantum ghost has been discovered

if you've used the internet at all you might have heard about this so called 4d quantum ghost. sometimes called a phantom, being, or entity.

what is it?

this is not a ghost, it is not a phantom, it is not an entity from the glorborg dimension.

articles and content creators have been sensationalizing what this actually is just for clicks and interaction. all it really is, is a resonance.

a resonance?

resonances happen when the movements of particles in the accelerator sync up in a way that amplifies their motion, causing them to deviate from their intended path.

[It's not a] physical being or entity, but rather a mathematical representation of a complex phenomenon known as resonance that can occur in particle accelerators.

the term 'phantom' is used as a metaphor, but it shouldn't be used at all. i'm not a quantum genius so i won't be able to explain the fine details; here are some sites with more info:

the creator of cern is the ghost

i have seen some tiktok videos claiming that the "creator of cern", aka peter higgs, was the phantom that interacted with these particles.

this is a direct quote from a 3 minute tiktok video with 100k+ likes and 1.1m views. there is so much wrong with this so lets break it down.

peter higgs did not start or create the particle accelerator, nor did he even operate it
- peter higgs theoretical work played a significant role in discovering the Higgs boson particle. although CERN's particle accelerator did discover this, he did not operate it.
there is no such thing as "Higgs particle accelerator"
he did die on april 8th, 2024. HOWEVER, these resonances were theoretically demonstrated in the late 1920s. although not using a particle accelerator, they were shown to be possible.
- cern first detected resonances in their accelerator way back in 1959 using their "proton synchrotron" (what a name)

another direct quote from the same video. believe it or not this is not thinking logically (surprising).

resonances do not cause particles to shoot out all over the place. resonances destabilize or limit the particle beam, but they do not result in particles being thrown out randomly.

for fucks sake do your research, google is free. keep yourself out of echo chambers and don't take shit for face value on the internet. i literally only have a high school diploma and i was able to debunk all of this with simple thinking, which many people seem to lack.

i have no sympathy for people who don't do their own thinking
